Guide to Applying Bottom Paint
Properly applied bottom paint protects your boat against fouling and ensures better performance. Follow this guide to achieve the best result.
Preparation of a boat that has previously been bottom painted
-
Cleaning: Start by thoroughly rinsing the boat's bottom with fresh water to remove dirt, algae and any old, loose paint.
-
Sanding: If the bottom is very dirty or previous paint layers are uneven, a light sanding with sandpaper (80-120 grit) can help adhesion.
