Stainless steel fork terminal from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire rope, so that the wire can move in only one direction. It can for example be used functionally; to secure a structure, or architecturally; for display purposes. In addition, they can be used to secure a mast in so-called shrouds, to stabilize the mast, and thus the boat.
Terminals are swaged onto the steel wire, meaning that a tool is used to crimp the terminal around the steel wire to secure it to an anchor point.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures their products from a block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds and their products can therefore withstand additional load.
