A terminal is used to secure the end of a wire rope so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can, for example, be used functionally; to secure a structure, or architecturally; for display purposes. In addition, they can be used to secure a mast in so-called shrouds, to stabilize the mast and thus the boat.

Terminals are swaged onto the wire rope, i.e. using a tool, the terminal is compressed around the wire rope to secure it to an anchor point.

Danish Blue Wave manufactures their products from a block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds and therefore their products can withstand additional load.
