Eye terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can, for example, be used functionally to secure a structure in place, or architecturally for display purposes. In addition, they can be used to secure a mast in so-called shrouds, to stabilize the mast and therefore the boat.
Terminals are swaged onto the steel wire, i.e. using a tool to clamp the terminal around the steel wire to fasten it to an anchoring point.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures their products from a block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds and their products can therefore withstand additional load.
