A terminal is used to hold the end of a wire rope in place, so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can, for example, be used functionally to secure a structure, or architecturally for display purposes. In addition, they can be used to secure a mast in so-called shrouds, to stabilize the mast and thereby the boat.

Terminals are normally swaged onto the wire rope, meaning that a special tool is used to crimp the terminal around the wire rope to secure it to an anchor point.

With swageless terminals, there is no need for a special tool. Instead, you unscrew the terminal, insert the wire, and screw it back together to secure the wire rope.

Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a solid block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds and their products can therefore withstand additional load.
