Yacht flag with golden embroidered YF letters. The swallowtail flag is made from the market’s strongest woven flag fabric, 170 g/m². Supplied in a deep dark red madder red/navy red color. The yacht flag may be flown by all Danish pleasure craft and rowing boats. Comes in a nice fabric bag.

How is the flag size calculated? For flagpoles, the leading edge of the flag should measure 2/3 of the flagpole height. There are no fixed rules for flag size, but we recommend the sizes below.

History of the Yacht Flag Highest resolution of 15 August 1865. Permission to fly the pleasure craft flag, consisting of the Danish naval ensign with the letters YF in gold in the upper square nearest the mast, is granted on application to the Ministry of Marine, but only for decked vessels. The application, which must be accompanied by a stamp duty of 65 øre, must be accompanied by the vessel’s measurement certificate or nationality and registration certificate. The yacht flag confers no privilege whatsoever on the vessel with regard to port and shipping dues. Permission to fly the yacht flag, which is valid only for the vessel, is transferred when the vessel changes owner, and which must be kept on board and shown on request to the relevant authorities, is lost when the vessel is not used exclusively for pleasure sailing. In 1957, the requirement to apply for permission to fly the yacht flag was abolished.
