The 8M0116589 aluminum anode kit is for use on Mercury Verado 350 hp L6 outboard engines (serial number 1B7 16557 and above). The kit includes all anodes and mounting hardware for the transom bracket and engine gearcase. These aluminum anodes are for freshwater or saltwater use. The anodes are important for preventing corrosion of aluminum or stainless steel engine parts. Inspect the anodes regularly for the best protection, and replace them when you see signs of corrosion or pitting. Never paint an anode. See your owner's manual or service manual for specific applications and replacement instructions.
