QUICKTRIM The innovative QuickTrim self-tailer makes it easy and safe to ease rope tension to make small sail trim adjustments without having to remove the winch handle or take the rope out of the self-tailer. Racers can make instant adjustments to small changes in wind direction or steering, giving an unmatched advantage when frequent sail trim adjustments are required. It is also a welcome convenience for cruisers.

On the water, QuickTrim is intuitive to use. With one hand on the top cover, rotate counterclockwise to ease the grip on the rope so you can make quick adjustments. When you release the top cover, it springs back and grips the rope to resume normal use. This simple, reliable function is a major advantage for frequent, minor trimming.

As delivered from the factory, Orbit 450QT works like traditional two-speed self-tailing winches. The QuickTrim function is easily activated simply by removing a single screw located under the self-tailer cover. Step-by-step instructions are included in the supplied Quick Reference Guide, which comes with the winch and in the product manual.

COMPLETELY TOOL-FREE Full disassembly and reassembly can be carried out completely without tools. To remove the drum, pull back the spring-loaded release pawl and a slight counterclockwise rotation will allow the self-tailing arm to be lifted off the winch. The drum can then be removed from the winch's center shaft. When reassembling the winch, an audible click confirms that the self-tailing arm is in place on the center shaft.
