Zinc nut that fits Volvo propeller shaft series DPX.
A zinc nut for a propeller shaft is used to protect the propeller shaft against corrosion and damage caused by galvanic corrosion. Galvanic corrosion occurs in water when different metals are electrically connected to each other. This can cause the metals to start corroding or rusting. The zinc nut must be replaced at regular intervals to ensure that it continues to function effectively and protect the propeller shaft.
